The Cause of & Cure for Raynaud’s Disease
How I cured my Raynaud's disease & the science supporting why my approach worked
If you turn to ✨Google✨ to ask how to rid yourself of Raynaud’s disease, you get the following answer:
This is the answer that I was faced with when all of a sudden my fingers started losing circulation, turning numb and pale white. My family doctor at the time also didn’t give me much consolidation, confirming the above sentiment and telling me that I can try wearing mittens. Thanks, doc.
Being my stubborn, contrarian self, this answer did not satisfy me. I knew that the dysfunction had to originate somewhere and that it wasn’t just random. And if you know what caused a dysfunction, you already have your first clue as to how to fix it. I was determined to get to the bottom of this and, despite my doctor’s nay-saying, cure myself of Raynaud’s.
Even though it may have seemed that the odds were absolutely not in my favour, I did, in fact, manage to cure my Raynaud’s, with my last Raynaud’s attack being 5 years ago. Nowadays nothing, not even holding my hand in a bucket of ice, can trigger a Raynaud’s attack. However, in order to cure my Raynaud’s I had to have a sobering realization about my health: I was dealing with a long-standing, progressing and systemic metabolic and hormonal mess.
The reason why mainstream medicine believes to this day that Raynaud’s is some mysterious phenomenon that can only be managed and never cured is because of the belief that it’s a stand-alone disease in an otherwise perfectly healthy body. In reality, Raynaud’s is more of a desperate cry from a body with a deeper, larger systemic issue. Unfortunately, due to numerous problems with current diagnostic tools, and due to a culture that normalizes dysfunction, especially in women, calling it psychosomatic, systemic metabolic and hormonal issues are often missed in their early stages and recognized only once they progress into something as serious as heart disease or cancer.
In this article, I will be covering the causes of Raynaud’s disease, what triggered my Raynaud’s, what makes the body redirect blood flow away from our extremities, what I did to cure my Raynaud’s, and why most of the pharmaceutical drugs recommended for Raynaud’s relieve symptoms but make the underlying dysfunction worse.
